Anki Digital Flashcards (English)

この教科書の単語や文は、Anki (http://ankisrs.net/) のデジタルフラッシュカードを使って学習することが出来ます。以下の手順で学習を進めて下さい。

I. AnkiのプログラムとDeckをダウンロードする。

1. Ankiのホームページ (http://ankisrs.net/)から、プログラムをダウンロードして、コンピュータにインストールする。
2. 下の「Anki Deck のダウンロード」から、自分の言語のAnki Deckをコンピュータにダウンロードする。
3. ダウンロードされた .apkg ファイルをダブルクリックして、Anki DeckをAnkiプログラムの中に取り込む。
4. 学習したいDeckをクリックする。
   単語のDeckは日本語から英語/中国語/韓国語/ベトナム語のカードを使いたい時は「JP to EN/CN/KO/VI」、英語/中国語/韓国語/ベトナム語から日本語のカードを使いたい時は「EN/CN/KO/VI to JP」のDeckをクリックして下さい。

II. 学習したい単語だけを表示するために、Filtered Deckを作る。

この教科書の単語Deckには教科書で使われる全ての単語のフラッシュカードが入っています。特定の読み物やアクティビティ（例：第3課の読み物3の単語だけを学習する）、または日本語能力試験の特定のレベルの単語だけ（例：N3とN4レベルの単語だけを学習する）を学習するためには、下の手順でFiltered Deckを作って下さい。

1. 学習したいDeckをクリックする。
2. Ankiの画面の上のメニューのToolsメニューにあるCreate Filtered Deckをクリックする。
3. Search欄に自動的に入力されるDeck名の後に、以下のようなキーワードを入力する。

例1：
教科書のN2からN5のレベルの全ての単語を「日本語→英語」で学習したい場合

第1課「漫画1」、第2課「浮世絵」、第3課「漫画2」を勉強し、それらの課のN3からN5の単語を覚えることになっているコースを履修する場合

正しい検索キーワードを入れた後にBuildをクリックすると、検索条件に合う単語だけのフラッシュカードが作られて、学習することが出来ます。Filtered Deckが削除されても単語カードは削除されない（元のDeckに戻る）ので、学習が終わったFiltered Deckは削除してもいいです。

III. コンピューター以外の端末で学習する場合は AnkiWeb を使って、端末同士を同期させる。

コンピューター以外の端末（スマートフォンやタブレット）で学習をする場合は、AnkiWeb を使って、コンピューターにダウンロードした Anki プログラムとの同期を行って下さい。

1. AnkiWeb（https://ankiweb.net/）で自分のアカウントを作成する。
2. コンピューターにダウンロードした Anki のフラッシュカードを作成した AnkiWeb のアカウントと同期させる。
3. 学習のために使いたい端末にAnkiのホームページ (http://ankisrs.net/) から Anki App（iPhone/iPad/iPod TouchにはAnkiMobile、Android端末にはAnkiDroid） をダウンロードする。
4. 使いたい端末の Anki App を AnkiWeb のアカウントと同期させる。

IV. 推奨されるAnkiの設定と学習法

Ankiはダウンロードした時点では新しいカードが自動的に追加されるように、また何度も記憶に失敗したカードは自動的に保留されるように設定されています。この教科書のAnki Deckを使う時は、まずこの初期設定を以下のように変更してから学習を始めることをお勧めします。

1. 設定の変更
   AnkiWebを使ってコンピューター以外の端末を同期させている場合、同期させた端末で設定を変更することも出来ますが、コンピューターにタウンロードしたAnkiで行うのが最も分かりやすい方法だと考えられます。以下は、コンピューター上のAnkiで設定の変更を行う場合の説明です。
   1. Deckの右にある設定アイコン (⚙️) の中の「オプション」をクリックする。
   2. 「新規カード」のタブの中の「一日の新規カードの上限」を「0」にする。
      この教科書のAnki Deckは「古いカードを復習→新しいカードを追加して練習」という順で練習することをお勧めします。このように練習出来るようにするために、自動的に追加される新規カードを「0」にすることをお勧めします。
   3. 「忘却」のタブの中の「無駄なカードの処理」を「タグを付けるだけ」に変更する。
      記憶に失敗したカードが自動的に保留されると、保留されたことに気が付かないで学習を続け、そのカードがあること自体を忘れてしまうことがあります。「タグを付けるだけ」にすると、何度も記憶に失敗した場合は「Leech」というタグが付きますが、カードは保留されません。
2. 学習法
   
   1. ［学習初日］
      上の設定に変更してから学習したいDeckをクリックすると「おめでとう！この単語帳の学習は終わりました。」というメッセージが現れます。これは、「一日の新規カードの上限」を「0」にして、新しいカードが自動的に追加されない設定にしたためです。この画面から、下の手順で学習する新規カードを追加して学習しましょう。
      1. 画面下の「カスタム学習」をクリックする。
         
      2. 「今日の新規カードの上限を上げる」をクリックして「選択枚数」を「10」にして「OK」をクリックし、追加された10枚のカードを学習する。
         
   2. ［翌日から］
      翌日からはAnkiを始動すると、前日までに学習したカードが復習カードとして表示されるようになります。下の手順で学習をしましょう。
      
      1. 復習カードが表示されているDeckをクリックして、復習カードが「0」になるまで順に学習する。
      2. 2.2.1の後でまだ学習が続けられる場合は、学習したいDeckを選択し、上の2.1.1と2.1.2の手順で新規カードを追加し、追加された全てのカードを学習する。
      3. 復習カードが増えてくると新規カードが追加出来ない日が出てくると思いますが、復習カードは毎日必ず「0」になるまで学習するように心掛けましょう。
         この教科書で最も効果的に学習するためには、Ankiでの練習を上記の手順で毎日行うことが大切です。一日の学習時間を決めて毎日継続的に学習し、Ankiでの練習をしない日がないようにしましょう。

Anki Digital Flashcards

Study of the vocabulary and sentences in this textbook is possible through the use of Anki’s (http://ankisrs.net/) digital flashcards. To do so, follow the below instructions.

I. Download the Anki program and decks.

1. From the Anki homepage (http://ankisrs.net/), download the program and install it onto your computer.
2. Download the decks of your language onto your computer from the “Download Anki Decks” button below.
3. Double-click the downloaded .apkg files to load the decks in the Anki program.
4. Click on the deck you wish to study with.
   When you use the vocabulary decks, click the ‘JP to EN/CN/KO/VI’ deck for studying the Japanese to English/Chinese/Korean/Vietnamese cards and the ‘EN/CN/KO/VI to JP’ deck for the English/Chinese/Korean/Vietnamese to Japanese cards.

II. To customize which vocabulary you want to study, create a filtered deck.

The vocabulary decks of this textbook contain flashcards for all the vocabulary utilized within the textbook. For studying the vocabulary of specific readings or activities (only chapter 3’s Reading 3 vocabulary, etc.), or vocabulary for a specific level of the JLPT (only N3 and N4 vocabulary, etc.), follow the below procedure for creating a filtered deck.

1. Click the deck you wish to study with.
2. Click “‘Create Filtered Deck” under “Tools” in the top menu.
3. After the deck name automatically entered within the ‘Search’ field, insert the following types of keywords.

Example 1:
When you want to study all of the N2 through N5 level vocabulary in the textbook in Japanese to English.

When you start taking a course that covers Chapter 1 “Manga 1,” Chapter 2 “Ukiyo-e” and Chapter 3 “Manga 2” and when your instructor expects you to memorize the N3, N4 and N5 level vocabulary.

After inserting the correct keywords and clicking build, only flashcards with vocabulary matching the search criteria are created and you can begin your study. Once you’ve finished studying, it is okay to delete the filtered deck. Vocabulary cards only return to their original deck after filtered deck deletion and are not erased.

III. When using a device other than a computer to study, use AnkiWeb to sync with your computer.

When using a device other than a computer (smartphone, tablet etc.) to study, use AnkiWeb to sync your device with the Anki program on your computer.

1. Create an account at AnkiWeb (https://ankiweb.net/).
2. Sync the Anki flashcards you downloaded onto your computer with your AnkiWeb account.
3. Download the Anki app (AnkiMobile for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch, AnkiDroid for Android Devices) from the Anki homepage (http://ankisrs.net/) onto the device you wish to use for study.
4. Sync the Anki app on that device with your AnkiWeb account.

IV. Anki Settings & Usage Recommendations

As a default, Anki is set up to automatically add new cards over time and to suspend cards that you have failed to recognize a certain number of times. We recommend that you change these default settings as described below before beginning to study using the Anki decks for this textbook.

1. Changing the Default Settings
   If you’ve chosen to sync another device to your computer using AnkiWeb, it is also possible to change your settings from that device, but the process is probably easiest to complete using the Anki you’ve downloaded onto your computer. The steps detailed below are based on the Anki computer program.
   
   1. Click on the Settings icon (⚙️) to the right of the appropriate deck, then select “Options.”
      
   2. Change the “New Cards/day” value in the “New cards” tab to “0.”
      When using the Anki deck for this textbook to study, we recommend that you first review old cards and only then add new cards to practice with. To allow you to study the cards in this order, you’ll need to set the amount of automatically added new cards to 0.
      
   3. Change the “Leach action” in the “Lapses” tab to “Tag Only.”
      By default, cards that you’ve failed to remember a certain number of times will be automatically suspended from your deck, and you therefore run the risk of not noticing that a card has been suspended and then eventually forgetting that it exists altogether. If you change the “Leech action” from “Suspend Card” to “Tag Only,” however, the card will only be tagged with the label “Leech” and won’t be suspended.
      
2. Using the Deck to Study
   1. [First Day of Study]
      If you change the settings as described above, the first time you click on a deck you will be greeted with the message “Congratulations! You have finished this deck for now.” This is because you’ve set your “New cards/day” to “0” and no new cards to study have been automatically added. From this screen, you can follow the steps below to add new cards to your deck and begin studying.
      
      1. Click on “Custom Study” at the bottom of the screen.
      2. Select “Increase today’s new card limit,” then change the value of “Increase today’s new card limit by” to “10” and click “OK.” Now when you return to the deck, there will be ten new cards added for you to study.
         
   2. [Subsequent Days]
      On subsequent days, the cards that you have studied previously will be displayed as review cards. Continue your study by following the steps below.
      1. Click on a deck with review cards displayed and work through them until the number of cards to review has reached 0.
      2. If you want to keep studying after finishing this step 2.2.1, repeat steps 2.1.1 and 2.1.2 above to add new cards to a deck and then work through all of those added cards.
      3. As the number of review cards increases, there may be days when you aren’t able to add any new cards, but make an effort to at least reduce your review cards to 0 every day.
         The words “every day” are key here—in order to make the most effective use of this textbook, it is important to use Anki to study and review in the manner prescribed above without missing a day. Set a period of time to study each day and try not to let a day go by without an Anki study session.

II. 文レベルの練習 | Sentences

学習した単語を使えるようにするためには、文のレベルで練習することが大切です。このDeckでは、教科書で使われるN3～N5の単語を使った文を読んだり聞いたりする練習が出来ます。単語のDeckと併用して練習して下さい。英語限定のDeckです。

なお、このDeckのFiltered Deckを作る場合は、こちらをご覧下さい。

When you learn vocabulary, it is important that you practice them in sentences. With this deck, you can practice reading and listening of the N3, N4, and N5 vocabulary used in the textbook in various sentences. We recommend using this deck along with the vocabulary decks. The sentence deck is only available in “Japanese to English.”

With this deck, you can practice grammar and expressions introduced in the textbook (pp.124-141) in sentences. We recommend using this deck after reading the explanations in the textbook so that you can further improve your understanding and achieve mastery. The grammar deck is only available in “Japanese to English.”
